about

Pencils of Promise is a nonprofit organization with a goal of increasing access to quality education all over the world.

 

BRIEF

Create an innovative fundraising campaign that sheds light on the global education crises and creates new members of the Pencils of Promise movement.

 

concept

The concept developed for this campaign is "Pass the Pencil" which is also used as our tagline.  With this campaign we hope to help people acknowledge that they're not just donating, they're passing knowledge.    

 

 

PRINT AD 1 + 2

The print ads of this campaign paints a picture of the potential children from Lao have if they were granted an education.     


 

GUERILLA ADVERTISING

With the guerilla ads, we hope to gain awareness for the Pencils of Promise movement by turning the world in to one giant class room.  The guerilla ads would be placed in various locations through out the city including 42nd street grand central terminal station. On the school desk, the public will find more information along with a QR code. 

The QR code will link mobile devices to the Pencils of Promise official webpage.  The public will then have the opportunity to donate or learn more of the Pencils of Promise movement. The desk also provides information on the free downloadable Pencils of Promise augmented reality app.  

 

AUGMENTED REALITY 

Once the free Pencils of Promise augmented reality app is downloaded, the public can direct their phones to the school desk for a surprise.  With the Pencils of Promise augmented reality app, the public will have the chance to view virtual children sitting in the desk in front of them through their mobile devices.  This shows the desire foreign children have for an education.  Other features of the app will allow the public to access information on poor education systems in other countries.  The public will be able to donate directly from the app.   We hope that the augmented reality app will drive traffic to the guerilla campaign and gain more awareness to the Pencils of Promise movement.
